"Operations (Kimia II) are proceeding well" those were the words of general Didier Etumba, chief of Staff of DRC army, speaking on the result of their fight against FDLR Hutu genocidaires currently on run in the DRC as he addressed the provincial assembly in Bukavu on july 27th, 09. Gen. Didier optimistically stated that Interahamwe militias known as FDLR have been dying by hundreds since the first operation was launched against them in North Kivu. "Since (the operation) Umoja Wetu until today, more than 800 FDLR have been killed. Especially during the preliminary stage, 412 FDLR have been killed since the official launch of the operation, there are already 245 FDLR killed in North and South Kivu. Over 250 FDLR were captured and more than 110 dependents were recovered, reported general Didier Etumba.
